How to Send Baked Goods to Deployed Soldiers

Treat The Troops wants to make sure our deployed soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and airwomen know people at home are thinking of them.

We appreciate your thoughtfulness in wanting to send our troops fresh-baked cookies. This simple gesture helps boost morale and show our appreciation for the hardships and risks they endure on a daily basis.

Sending these care packages of freshly-baked cookies to deployed military personnel is done completely free to you, thanks to donations made by people all across the nation! These make the perfect gifts for any significant other, spouse, son, or daughter that is deployed in the military.

How It Works

1. You fill out our cookie request form.

You will need all of the following details:

  • Solider’s first and last name

  • Your email address

  • Soldier's full APO/FPO address

  • Soldier's expected return date

  • (Optional) A message for our Crumbs (the wonderful volunteers who bake and send cookies to our deployed soldiers). Please tell us a little bit about the soldier who will be receiving our cookies. We love to get to know more about them!

Note: No form of payment is required. Our cookies are completely free to you and are made possible by donations we receive.

2. The Crumbs receives your request.

Our extraordinary volunteers will receive your request.

3. Cookies are baked.

Our Crumbs will bake cookies in a variety of types, underbaking them slightly to preserve freshness.

Our most popular cookie types include chocolate chip, M&M, oatmeal-raisin, and snickerdoodle, however, our crumbs love to get creative and have been known to include Rice Krispies, white chocolate chips, and other delicious mix-ins!

Note: We do our best to mark all cookies containing peanuts or nuts, but cannot guarantee any cookies are completely free of nuts, peanuts, or other allergens.

4. The package is prepared.

Cookies are carefully packed and nested in packing material to ensure they are protected on their journey.

A note is included thanking them for their service to our country. We also ask them for the names and addresses of other soldiers, especially those who get little/no mail, so that we may continue to show our appreciation.

The Crumbs may include additional items such as playing cards, candy, note cards, flavored drink powders, etc. in each box.

5. The package is shipped!

The package will be brought to the post office where a customs form will be completed and the package inspected. Treat The Troops always uses Priority Mail boxes, which usually take 10-15 days for the cookies to reach their destination.

From here, our baked goods begin their journey to your loved one!

Important to note:

  • We can only send cookies to deployed troops. We cannot send shipments within the continental US.

  • We need at least 3 months’ notice to be sure the cookies arrive before they return home.

  • We cannot honor requests for specific kinds of cookies -- we send a variety in each box. All bags of cookies containing nuts are labeled accordingly.

  • We are not able to honor any allergy requests.
