OUR MISSION
The purpose of Treat The Troops is to let deployed American military persons know that people at home are remembering them through free care packages.
Since its start in the 1990s, Treat The Troops has grown to a nationwide network of committed volunteers, aka “Crumbs,” who along with their friends, local schools, businesses, and religious groups, have sent over 8 million cookies to our deployed US soldiers.
Thanks to the many people around the country who have given so graciously and generously to Treat The Troops. Not one cookie would have gotten to our soldiers without your financial support and the dedication of our crumbs.
How Our Free Care Packages for Deployed Soldiers Works:
Home-baked cookies and other “comfort items,” along with a note of thanks, are sent via the U.S. Postal Service. The boxes are addressed to a specific soldier at an APO (Army & Air Force) or FPO (Navy & Marine) number.
Treat The Troops does not take a position on whether or not our troops should be deployed to other countries. It is important, however, that we, the American People, let these troops know that we care and are appreciative of the hardships and risks they must endure every day for our country.
Letters received from soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen prove that these packages from home are greatly appreciated and that they do boost morale.
